Sydney Maze Backpackers Location & Getting to our Hostel

Maze Backpackers is the most centrally located backpacker hostel in Sydney, situated right in the heart of the city!

We are located right in the heart of downtown Sydney at 417 Pitt Street, which is in between Goulburn & Campbell Streets.

The Maze is close to all major sightseeing attractions, and just a short walk to all pubs, clubs, shops and transport. Jump on a bus and you'll soon be sun-baking on some of Sydney's spectacular beaches in just under 15 minutes!

Partying, drinking, snacking, clubbing, sightseeing and shopping are all so close, you'll be confused as to what to choose!

So how do you get to the most centrally located Sydney hostel? Easy! There are several ways of finding us:

From Sydney Central Train Station / Interstate Bus Terminal:

It is only a 5 minute walk to Maze Backpackers hostel:

*Exit onto corner of Eddy Avenue and Pitt Street, Sydney.

* Turn right onto Pitt Street and walk towards the City.

* We are 2 blocks down on the left hand side of the road.

From Sydney Airport:

Shuttle Bus:

* Cost is $12 one way.

* Pick-up is FREE if you have booked 3 or more night's accommodation with us! **

* Our driver will come and pick you up and take you directly to our front door.

* Simply call us on our Freecall Number on arrival: 1800 813 522 and we'll sort out the rest. We'll be asking you what you're wearing, just so it's easier for our drivers to come & find you!

* After you have called us, this is where you will need to stand so the driver can find you:

•  INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL: Wait at The Meeting Point which is located on the ground floor of the Arrival section. It's a big blue wall with seats in front of it. "The Meeting Point" is displayed in large orange writing. It's situated right in front of a Currency Exchange booth & is closest to the Arrival North section. If you are at the Meeting Point near the McDonalds then you are in the WRONG PLACE.
• DOMESTIC TERMINAL: For both Qantas & Virgin domestic terminals, go to Baggage Claim Carousel # 5 after you have collected your luggage and wait there next to the carousel and make sure you are inside the terminal. Our drivers should be there within 15-20 minutes. Please be patient during peak-hour times - the sydney roads are chockas full of traffic!

Please note: It's really important that you stay at the above place & not move or be tempted to go shopping or go out & smoke a cigarette -- our driver's aren't mind-readers & won't be able to find you!!

**Our shuttle bus operates between 4.55am - 9.00pm. If you arrive into Sydney outside these times, call our Reception staff on 1800 813 522 to get quick and easy advice on your cheapest transport options.

Train:

* Cost is $12.60 one way.

* Take the green line to Central Station (approx. 10 minutes)

* We are then only a 5 minute walk from Central Station.

Taxi:

* Consider this option if there are 3 or more people as it will be the cheapest!

* A taxi ride will cost about $25 to the hostel and will take approx. 20 minutes depending on traffic.

By Car:

* Get onto Pitt Street, which is one of the major roads in Sydney (runs parallel to George Street).

* We are located at the Central Station end of Pitt Street (between Goulburn & Campbell Streets).

* There is no direct parking at The Maze, but there's a few secure parking stations nearby. Try 36 Campbell Street – there's a carpark there open from 8am to Midnight. Cost is $5 per hour Mon - Fri. Max $20 per day. Weekends & Public Holidays $5 per hour with a Max of $15 per day.

* Discounted Parking - located off the laneway just a few shops down from our front door, opposite 7-11. Drive down this laneway, then take your first left. You will then see the carpark! Normally $25 per day, a stamped MAZE ticket will get you a reduced rate of $20 per day during the week, and $10 on weekends.

* Last option is the other carpark on Goulburn Street. Turn right onto Goulburn when

driving up Pitt Street towards the city.
